RAW HONEY FOR SALE

At Koha Bees we do not heat our honey at any stage. This is how we define 'RAW HONEY' We also batch process each site so we can identify the local geographical region our honey was sourced from and then label each jar with this information. From Bombay Wilderness Honey, Lake Hays Bush Honey, Te Hihi Wild Flower Honey, Pukekohe Hill Honey or Awaroa Stream Honey, each jar tells a story. We sell our raw honey in 500 gm glass jars or 5 kg plastic buckets. If you want to buy 15 jars or more you can place an order directly from our Contact us page. We prefer it if you can collect your purchase from our site in Karaka but will arrange delivery if required. You need an appointment to purchase or collect honey from the Karaka site. Please enquire for wholesale prices. If you are after one or two jars you can purchase a 500 gm jar of Koha Bees honey online from My Natural Health or it's available from Black Bean Foods, O'Shannessey St, Papakura. Please note: Freshly harvested raw honey remains liquid for a month or so when stored at room temperature. Raw honey will always thicken and eventually become solid over time. If you want to return crystalised honey to it's original liquid state you can gently heat it for an hour or two.

OPEN HIVE SESSIONS

At Koha Bees we understand that learning about bees is the most useful and often enjoyable part of being a committed hobby beekeeper. We are willing to assist our Managers to gain practical experience and confidence. We encourage current Managers and prospective Managers to join us every Saturday at 1.00 pm, weather permitting, at our Karaka apiary to open some hives and ask questions. We will decide at 9.00 am on the day if the weather forecast is suitable for an OPEN HIVE SESSION and inform you by text and on our facebook page. You will need to contact us to tell us if you are planning to come, a short text is the preferred communication (ph. 021 388 055). We have a reasonable number of hives in various growth phases to look at. Bring your own clean protective clothing, hive tool and smoker.
